Safety

Safety is paramount in the design and construction of this Airship. Its low-pressure hull construction prevents the airship losing gas or bursting with multiple tears. If the hull is pierced, for example, the airship will lose lift and float to the ground.

Each component of the Airship that has any weight (batteries and engines) have tie down straps and safety straps to prevent them dislodging and causing damage. Fins are constructed from balsa reinforced foam and the hull is constructed from non-tear Nylon and Polyurethane.

The engines and propellers are surrounded by a cowling to prevent propellers from hitting any objects while in motion. The engine cowling also prevents people from inadvertently injuring themselves when starting and handling the Airships. The engines can be shut off by the pilot via the radio control unit.
